AIKIDO UK

Sensei Chivulescu

Bogdan Chivulescu started practicing Ki Aikido in November 1990, under the supervision and mentorship of Sensei Kenneth Williams, the President and Technical Director of the Ki Federation of Great Britain.

With the permission and encouragement of Sensei Kenneth Williams, in the spring of 1991, Bogdan Chivulescu and his best friend Bogdan Radu Udubasa opened the first Ki Aikido club/dojo in Romania and started developing the art of Ki Aikido in Bucharest. By the end of 1994, Bogdan Chivulescu founded ''The Romanian Ki Foundation'', the first official organization that promoted in Romania the art of Aikido with Mind and Body Co-ordination.

As the teacher and president of the Romanian branch, Bogdan Chivulescu organised various Ki Aikido seminars in Bucharest, where he would invite Senior British teachers from the Ki Federation of Great Britain's Executive Committee.

In the summer of 2001, Bogdan Chivulescu left Romania and immigrated to Canada to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. After settling in Edmonton, Alberta he continued practicing Ki Aikido under the supervision of Ki Federation of Great Britain.

In the spring of 2003 he began to have reservations about the policies of ''the Ki Federation of Great Britain'', and after considerable thought, he resigned from the organisation.

In the 2005, after almost 2 years of searching for another teacher who could offer him the best quality of teachings in the art of Aikido with Mind and Body Co-ordination, Bogdan Chivulescu became a direct student of Sensei William Andrew, a former Senior Teacher and Executive Committee Member with the Ki Federation of Great Britain.

Sensei William Andrew resigned in 2000 from the Ki Federation of Great Britain and formed Aikido UK, a non-for profit organization located in Scotland, UK.

Nowadays, under the supervision and guidance of Sensei Andrew, Bogdan Chivulescu runs a dojo in Edmonton, Alberta Canada.
